What does fade-in do?

Fade-in gradually raises the audio level from silence to its original level over the duration you choose. It can soften abrupt starts and create a more natural entrance.

What does fade-out do?

Fade-out gradually reduces the audio level toward silence at the end of the file. It is useful when a recording ends abruptly or when you want a controlled musical ending.

Which fade curve should I choose?

Linear changes gain at a constant rate. Smooth uses a gentle S-shaped transition that works well for many recordings. Equal Power keeps more perceived level through the transition and can feel less abrupt on some material.

Does fading change the length of my audio?

No. This tool applies a gain envelope to the beginning and end while preserving the file duration. It does not trim or stretch the recording.

What happens if the fades overlap?

If fade-in and fade-out durations together extend across much or all of a short clip, both gain envelopes can affect the same section. That is valid, but the middle of the clip can become quieter than expected.

Does ToolYogi upload my audio?

No. Audio decoding, fade processing and WAV generation happen locally in your browser. The source file and processed result are not uploaded or stored by ToolYogi.
