Can I merge different audio formats?
Yes, when your browser can decode them. ToolYogi decodes the inputs, resamples them to a common output rate and combines them into one WAV.
What does direct join do?
Direct join places one decoded clip immediately after the previous clip with no added silence or overlap. It is fastest and preserves each clip's full selected duration.
What does crossfade do?
Crossfade overlaps the end of one clip with the beginning of the next using an equal-power fade. This can make transitions between songs, ambience or spoken segments sound smoother.
Can I put silence between files?
Yes. Gap mode inserts a fixed amount of digital silence between each pair of clips, which is useful for spoken recordings, practice tracks and simple playlists.
What happens if files have different sample rates or mono/stereo layouts?
The merger converts files to a common 44.1 or 48 kHz output rate and uses stereo if any input is stereo. Mono material is duplicated across both channels when needed.
Does ToolYogi upload my audio?
No. Decoding, resampling, combining and WAV generation happen locally in your browser. The input files and merged output are not uploaded or stored by ToolYogi.

Yes. The current browser-based merger works without an account.
How many files can I merge?
This version supports up to 8 files at a time with a combined compressed input size below 300 MB.
Can I reorder files before merging?
Yes. Use the up and down controls beside each clip to change the final order.
Can I merge MP3 files?
Yes, if your browser can decode them. The combined result is currently exported as 16-bit WAV.
Will crossfade shorten the result?
Yes. Crossfade overlaps neighboring clips, so the combined duration is slightly shorter than a direct join.
Is my audio stored?
No. Inputs and merged output stay in the browser session.
